Q. How do I update my new key?
A. Update your key using the software downloaded from Riscolockbox.com. Once installed, the software will detect and update your key through the included USB cable in a few seconds. Your PC must be turned on and have an open internet connection.
Q. What is the new update cycle?
A. The new cycle is seven days.
Q. If I’m gone or not active for several weeks how do I update?
A. Simply connect your key to the USB cable. Your PC must be turned on and have an open internet connection.
Q. What if I forget to update my key and need to show a property?
A. When you power up your expired key, it will display the phone number you can call for an offline update code. Entering the code will update your key through midnight of the day you call in.
Q. How do I maintain the rechargeable battery in my new key?
A. While your key is attached to your powered-on computer, the battery will begin charging after one minute. When charging completes your key’s display reads “Recharging Complete”.
Q. How long will my key battery charge last?
A. Expect two weeks use from a fully charged battery. Back light use will affect battery life. Plan to charge your key on a schedule similar to a cell phone.
Q. How do I check my battery status?
A. Turn on your key, enter your PIN and press 3-1-1-3.
Q. Can the Riscolockbox software be installed on multiple computers?
A. Yes, if you have a computer at work and at home the software will work on both. Additional USB cables are available through Radio Shack or similar electronic suppliers.
Q. I share a computer with another agent. Can we both update our keys on the same computer?
A. Yes, each agent’s key will update from the same computer.
Q. Will the change to the new key affect my RediSAFEs?
A. Yes and no.
- No, your RediSAFEs are still issued/registered in your name.
- Yes, because the new system will notify you of Showing activity if the RediSAFE serial number is assigned to a listing ID at the Riscolockbox website.
- Yes, you may read all 50 activity records in your RediSAFE with your RaderKEY2 and the ReaderKEY Client software. See page 28 of your User Manual for more details.
Q. How do I use the Call Before Showing features in the RediSAFE?
- The Call Before Showing (CBS) feature has now been activated for all RediSAFE's in the Utah County Association of REALTORS® area.
- Plug your ReaderKEY2 into the USB cord of your internet enabled computer and allow it to update.
- In the system tray (lower right of your PC) find the ReaderKEY2 Client icon and right click on it.
- Find the menu item titled "Safe CBS" and place your cursor over it. Select "ON".
- Follow the on screen instructions.
- Call Before Showing is now active for your RediSAFE.
Q. How to obtain the Call Before Showing codes for your RediSAFE.
- Log into the Orion software at http://www.riscolockbox.com/Orion
- Select the link for "CBS Codes".
- Enter your ReaderKEY2 and RediSAFE numbers.
- Select "Generate".
- The CBS code will appear in the window provided.
Q. How to print/save a list of Call Before Showing codes for your RediSAFE.
- Log into the Orion software at http://www.riscolockbox.com/Orion
- Select the link to "Reports".
- Select the line to "CBS Code Reports".
- Enter the number of days (Risco recommends 30 or 60 day reports) and the RediSAFE serial number; select "Generate".
- The report can be saved as a PDF by using the safe button on the top right.
